From concept design, to completed character creation, students will be guided through body prop fabrication, silicon tongue appliances, ventilated hair pieces, life casting, sculpting a bust, front torso piece and more. Design & Concept

Students will be taught how to use hard copy mediums to create a comprehensive character makeup. They will gain a basic working knowledge of creating a concept design of their own character.

Gags, Blood Rigging, Splatter, Canon

Students will be given demos on how to rig up for squirting blood effects. Using different tubing and an assortment of pumps and a variety of different rigs for blood spray effects.

Body Part Prop Fabrication

Students will learn how to size and cut lace to an accurate fit, how to tie real hair to the lace, how to apply a facial ventilated hair piece, how to style the piece and how to remove it properly.

Life-casting Full Bust and Torso

Students will be life-casting the full head. This includes the neck and shoulder areas. Snap molds will also be made.

Students will be taught the inner workings of how to mix and run foam latex. They will learn how to pour the foam and how to bake it, as well as pre-painting techniques.

When do the programs start?

I am currently working in film, do I need to quit my job to take this program?

No! As we understand that majority of our clientele for the Advanced Prosthetics program are either active makeup artists, or in the process of developing their careers, we have scheduled this program to run Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings. This is in the best effort to allow you the freedom to work your film jobs and to continue to develop your professional resumes while enhancing your skills.
